Although a sand course with 'browns' instead of 'greens', it has rolling grass fairways which confront the observer standing on the clubhouse veranda. Interspersed with desert terrain and vegetation, it gives a genuine 'links' feel to the impending round of golf.
As the course is set in the desert with a mixture of grass and sand fairways, buggys cannot be used and the course must be walked.   However, caddies are usually available to carry your bag and give you limited guidance around the course.....
Playing the Course
Founded in 1979 as a members' Golf Club, Sharjah Wanderers Golf Club, a section of the Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club, has been in its present site amongst the rolling sand dunes since 1990 and an aesthetically more attractive course is yet to be found in the UAE.

A par 72, 6,468 yards course, set in rolling desert countryside, the course offers a number of challenges and plays similar to a links course.
Visitors are welcome and for those visiting from overseas, the course is a truly unique experience, and is a “must-play” in the Emirates.
